Founded more than 200 years ago by Marie-Etienne Nitot, Chaumet started off as the official jeweller to Napoleon Bonaparte and catered to the upper-crust of society: the entire family of King Louis-Philippe of France, the Duchess de Berry and Queen Victoria of England.
But it was Joseph Chaumet, who took over the firm in 1885, who was the master of the “Belle Epoque.” He created jewellery that was elegant and stately, attracting not just aristocratic and royal clients, but billionaires as well. Due to its close ties to the elite and royal families, a major part of Chaumet’s business were tiaras and aigrettes, the social badges and fashion accessories of that time.
Chaumet’s current flagship store is located at the legendary Place Vendome in Paris, complete with a workshop, office and museum. Significantly, its “grand salon” has been classified as a Historic Monument since 1927.
Its cosy little boutique at Starhill Gallery holds true to the brand’s tradition of simplicity, chic and elegance, and boasts an impressive collection of rings, necklaces, earrings and watches (for both men and women) that will make anyone fall in love at first sight.
Chaumet’s current collection consists of the Frisson, Liens, ABC, Dandy and Class One. Chaumet also offers made-to-order jewellery.
